A trademark application is a paper or electronic document by which a person requests federal registration of trademark. The application receives a serial number and a filing date if it includes:

  1. the applicant’s name;
  2. a name & address for correspondence;
  3. a clear drawing of the mark sought to be registered;
  4. a list of the goods or services; and
  5. the application filing fee.
